POETS IN PARIS brings people together in an all-embracing movement open to all which tries to stimulate and discover, encourage and promote living poets and poetry through artistic and cultural events. It is supported by research, education, training and a popular festival. The fourth International Festival of Poetry in Paris will be held Wednesday 29 September to Saturday 02 october 2010, on the theme of LYRICS of the NOMAD.
Lectures, performances, shows, debates, new ideas, open stage events, will run non-stop .
This festival promotes poetic creativity while pushing the need for humanity in this world. It is not a mere catalogue of entertaining events but expects people to use words to reflect their social, cultural, intellectual and philosophical take on the world. Where is the world heading and how can we transcend our selfishness and differences?
True to its primary purpose, to return poetry to its rightful place in the public sphere, this festival is open to all, irrespective of social or cultural affiliation.
This year the festival is appealing to poets in France and the wider world outside the establishment to come forward. It’s a people’s event. It stands for the values of peace, justice and freedom.
